“Shapes All Around”

This collection of 15 works are made with acrylic paint on various sized canvases, circle or square shaped. It is influenced by my fascination with how shapes make up everything in the world. If you look close enough, the foundation of all things comes from geometrical forms. With a background in engineering and architecture, I have been naturally drawn to structure, straight edges, and perfectly round forms. I wanted to bring these ideas to life combining the satisfying aspects of geometry with the limitless possibilities of 2-D art. The addition of explosive color and busy compositions within this body of work makes for an eye-catching installation that simulates the layering of shapes in the natural world. While the concept of shapes on a 2-D surface is simple, I have pushed the boundaries of flat artwork with the forms coming off of the sides of the canvas and a 3-D installation that comes off of the wall at various heights.
